Ultimately, whether Nu Metal is considered real metal music is subjective and depends on individual preferences and definitions of what constitutes metal music. **

For metal music, it is generally recommended to use heavier gauge strings, such as .010-.052 or .011-.056. These thicker strings provide more tension and can handle the aggressive playing style and heavy riffing often associated with metal music. Additionally, coated or treated strings can help to prolong the life of the strings, as metal players often use heavy distortion and aggressive picking techniques which can cause strings to wear out more quickly. **
